Junaid Malik

Junaid completed his Masters in Conservative Dentistry in 2016 and was awarded the UCL Dental School Commemorative Prize for Clinical and Academic Excellence in Prosthodontics and was named on the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Postgraduate Dean’s List. On completion of his training, Junaid was invited back to UCL to lecture postgraduates as part of the master’s programme in Restorative Dentistry. He has been a visiting lecturer in Prosthodontics at the world renowned UCL Eastman Dental Institute since 2018.

In 2021, Junaid decided to pursue his research interests in digital dentistry and artificial intelligence by re-joining the Prosthodontic Department as an Academic Clinical Fellow. He is very well respected and accomplished clinician, having been commended for his meticulous attention to detail and clinical skills. He has a passion for teaching and education and has pursued teaching qualifications to improve the experiences of his students, many of whom have gone onto pursue further education or specialisation.

Together with Sachin and Riccardo, Junaid became a partner in a dedicated prosthodontic laboratory. This has given him the opportunity to ensure his laboratory work is meticulously controlled and has provided him the opportunity to develop his techniques.

Junaid has been using the injection moulding technique since 2017 in what was its primitive form. Through realisation of
the shortcomings of the existing techniques, he has developed and modified the technique with the support of Sachin and Riccardo to create something innovative, predictable and repeatable.
Being recognised for this technique, Junaid was invited to become a Key Opinion Leader for Kuraray and has been sharing his teachings with many of his students on postgraduate programmes.

Junaid has a passion for education and clinical dentistry and education and takes great pride being in a position to impart knowledge to the next generation of dentists both nationally and internationally.
