FROM ASSESSMENT TO COMPLETE RESTORATIVE CARE
10 intensive days of hands-on training covering the complete clinical workflow for modern restorative dentistry.
Develop a structured, repeatable approach to restorative care — from clinical photography and aesthetic assessment through direct composites, indirect restorations, occlusion and isolation.
The programme brings these essential disciplines together, simplifying complex techniques and helping you develop the skills and confidence to deliver predictable results in everyday practice.
Theory online. Hands-on in person.
10 DAYS DESIGNED FOR DOING
The theoretical components of the programme are supported by structured online learning through the DENTER Portal.
This allows the face-to-face course days to concentrate predominantly on practical learning rather than extended lectures.
You arrive familiar with the underlying principles and can spend more of the day practising the techniques.
Throughout the programme you will work through structured hands-on exercises, with opportunities for discussion, troubleshooting and individual feedback.
With a maximum of just 16 dentists, the programme is deliberately kept small.
TREATMENT PLANNING THROUGHOUT THE PROGRAMME
Learning individual clinical techniques is only useful if you know when and how to use them. Treatment planning therefore runs throughout the Year Programme. The aim is not simply to teach you how to place a composite, prepare an onlay or analyse an occlusion.
It is to help you decide:
By the end of the programme, the individual disciplines should begin to work together as one restorative system.
WHAT YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO AFTER THE TRAINING
By the end of the programme you should be able to:

2027 DATES
Day 1 – Clinical Photography & Aesthetic Assessment – Friday 26 February, Bloomsbury, Central London
See more. Understand more. Communicate better.
Great restorative dentistry begins with seeing the details that matter.
Learn to capture consistent, high-quality clinical photographs that transform how you assess patients, plan treatment and communicate your findings.
Develop a systematic approach to aesthetic assessment, allowing you to recognise the subtle details of tooth position, proportion, form and symmetry that influence the final result.
By the end of the day, you will be able to:
The practical experience: Work with your own camera equipment to develop a photographic protocol you can use immediately in practice.
Day 2 – Occlusion, Diagnosis & Treatment Planning – Friday 19 March, Bloomsbury, Central London
Understand the problem before choosing the solution.
Confident restorative dentistry starts with an accurate diagnosis.
Develop a straightforward, practical approach to understanding occlusion, recognising wear patterns and identifying the factors that influence treatment success.
Learn to move beyond individual teeth and see the bigger clinical picture, allowing you to make better treatment decisions and avoid unnecessary complications.
By the end of the day, you will be able to:
The practical experience: Examine occlusion with a colleague, gather clinical records and develop your own structured treatment plan.
Day 3 – Rubber Dam Isolation & Adhesive Dentistry – Friday 16 April, Bloomsbury, Central London
Better isolation. Better bonding. Better restorations.
Successful adhesive dentistry depends on getting the fundamentals right.
Master practical isolation techniques and develop a clearer understanding of the factors that influence adhesive performance.
Learn how to achieve reliable isolation, manage different dental substrates and apply bonding protocols with greater consistency.
By the end of the day, you will be able to:
The practical experience: Individual hands-on exercises in rubber dam placement, isolation and adhesive techniques.
Day 4 & 5 – Direct Composite Restorations – Friday 14 – Saturday 15 May, Bloomsbury, Central London
Create restorations that look right, feel right and function properly.
Composite dentistry should be predictable, efficient and satisfying.
Over two intensive practical days, develop the skills to produce posterior restorations with reliable contacts, anatomical form and functional occlusion, alongside anterior restorations that reproduce natural tooth anatomy.
Move beyond simply filling cavities towards restoring teeth with precision and purpose.
Day 4 — Posterior Composites
Learn how to simplify posterior composite dentistry without compromising quality.
You will develop the skills to:
Day 5 — Anterior Composites
Discover a systematic approach to creating natural-looking anterior restorations.
You will develop the skills to:
The practical experience: Two days of individual workstation exercises, demonstrations and personalised tutor feedback.
Day 6 & 7 – Ceramic Veneers, Onlays & Crowns – Friday 18 – Saturday 19 June, DS Academy, Weybridge
Know when to restore, what to restore with and how to do it well.
Excellent indirect restorations are not simply the result of good laboratory work. They begin with sound clinical decisions and precise preparation.
Develop a systematic approach to selecting, preparing and delivering contemporary ceramic restorations.
Learn to preserve tooth structure, create appropriate preparations and communicate effectively with your dental laboratory.
Day 6 — Ceramic Veneers
Develop the confidence to plan and deliver aesthetic veneer restorations.
You will learn to:
Day 7 — Ceramic Onlays & Crowns
Develop a clearer, more conservative approach to indirect posterior and full-coverage restorations.
You will learn to:
The practical experience: Individual preparations, digital workflows and simulated clinical procedures, with feedback on preparation design and execution.
Summer break – July - August
Day 8 – Advanced Occlusion & Splint Therapy – Friday 17 September, Bloomsbury, Central London
Make better decisions when occlusion becomes complicated.
Not every restorative patient is straightforward.
Learn to recognise situations where occlusal factors, parafunction and temporomandibular disorders may influence your treatment decisions.
Develop a pragmatic approach to assessing occlusal risk, identifying patients who require further investigation and understanding the role and limitations of splint therapy.
By the end of the day, you will be able to:
The practical experience: Structured clinical assessment, paired examinations and individual practical splint exercises.
Day 9 – Advanced Restorative Techniques – Friday 15 October, Bloomsbury, Central London
Solve more problems. Preserve more teeth.
Some of the most rewarding restorative dentistry involves solving problems conservatively.
Explore practical approaches to managing worn teeth, repairing existing restorations and treating cases that do not fit neatly into conventional restorative protocols.
Learn to recognise opportunities for additive dentistry and develop the confidence to manage challenging situations without automatically resorting to more invasive treatment.
By the end of the day, you will be able to:
The practical experience: Individual hands-on exercises designed around realistic restorative challenges.
Day 10 – Comprehensive Restorative Case Planning – Friday 19 November, Bloomsbury, Central London
Bring everything together. Think like a restorative dentist.
Good dentistry is more than mastering individual techniques. It is knowing when, why and how to use them.
On the final day, bring together everything you have learned to develop comprehensive, carefully considered restorative treatment plans.
Build the clinical judgement needed to manage more complex cases, communicate confidently with patients and deliver treatment in a logical, predictable sequence.
By the end of the day, you will be able to:
The practical experience: Present and discuss restorative cases, develop individual treatment plans and receive structured feedback from the teaching faculty.
