Two intensive hands-on days covering a structured, repeatable approach to predictable anterior and posterior direct composite dentistry.
Learn the complete clinical workflow — from isolation and shade selection through layering, anatomy, finishing and polishing.
Excellent direct composite dentistry becomes much more achievable when the clinical process is broken down into clear, repeatable stages.
This course is designed to simplify both anterior and posterior composite techniques so they can be used confidently in everyday practice.
Rather than focusing on isolated tricks or demonstrations, the course takes you through the complete workflow — from assessment and isolation to shaping, finishing and final polish.
The aim is simple: to help you produce better, more predictable composite restorations without making the process unnecessarily complicated.
A practical approach to selecting dentine, enamel and effect shades without overcomplicating the process. Understand how opacity, translucency and thickness influence the final appearance of the restoration.
ISOLATION & ADHESIVE WORKFLOW
Reliable isolation techniques for anterior and posterior composite restorations. Learn how to create a clean, controlled working environment and simplify your adhesive workflow.
ANTERIOR LAYERING
A structured method for building anterior composite restorations using dentine and enamel layers. Learn how to reproduce natural tooth form, translucency and incisal effects in a repeatable way.
CLASS IV RESTORATIONS
Assessment, preparation, layering, contour and finishing of Class IV restorations. Develop a predictable approach to restoring fractured anterior teeth while controlling shape, colour and surface anatomy.
DIASTEMA CLOSURE & BLACK TRIANGLES
Techniques for managing anterior spacing and black triangles. Learn how to control contact position, emergence profile and tooth proportion while maintaining a natural appearance.
POSTERIOR COMPOSITES
Practical techniques for posterior composite placement. Learn how to manage anatomy, contacts, marginal ridges and occlusal form in a controlled and efficient way.
MORPHOLOGY & CONTOUR
Understand how to recreate natural tooth form rather than simply filling a cavity. Learn how anatomy, line angles, convexities and surface form influence the final appearance of a restoration.
FINISHING & POLISHING
A systematic approach to contouring, finishing and polishing. Learn how to produce natural surface texture, smooth transitions and a high-quality final gloss.
WHITE SPOTS & COLOUR MANAGEMENT
Understand when and how to manage white spots and localised colour discrepancies. Learn where different materials and techniques fit within a minimally invasive approach.
CLINICAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Simple photography techniques for treatment planning, shade assessment, documentation and communication.

The theory is completed before you arrive, so your time is focused on practical dentistry. Around two to three hours of pre-course online training per hands-on day (theory, fundamentals, procedure walkthroughs) is delivered through DENTER's dedicated online learning portal, so the hands-on days are spent doing — not listening. You'll keep portal access, including all PDFs, manuals and references, for three years after the course.
Across the two days you will work through the clinical stages of anterior & posterior composites — planning, preparing, layering, sculpting, and working through the finishing and polishing workflow. With a maximum of just 16 delegates, there is time for individual supervision, feedback on your progress and the opportunity to repeat and refine techniques.
