This practical two-day programme takes you through guided surgery from start to finish: scan acquisition and treatment planning, through guide design and verification, to guided implant placement on pre-prepared surgical guides.
The emphasis throughout is on practical implementation: clearer workflows, restoratively-driven planning, and the confidence to bring digital planning into everyday practice, including an honest look at the limitations of guided surgery and when to adapt.
Design and verify surgical guides from their own planning
Place implants using fully guided surgical protocols
Day 1: Planning & Design
Scan acquisition & digital records
STL files, CBCT data, wax-ups and digital workflow organisation. coDiagnostiX planning workflows
Implant positioning, restorative planning, AI alignment and guide development. Surgical guide design
Design guides from your own planning, then verify fit, support and tolerances, with an understanding of how guides are manufactured.
Day 2: Surgery & Verification
Guided surgical protocols
Guided drills, irrigation, verification and Straumann guided workflows. Implant placement
Place implants using pre-prepared surgical guides, following the full guided protocol from seating to final position. Verification & troubleshooting
Planned versus actual positioning, accuracy, complications, and when to convert to freehand.
Delegates receive 12 hours of verifiable CPD.
The course fee is £2,075 including VAT.

What's included
12 hours of verifiable CPD
Multiple planning cases (single-unit and bridge)
Hands-on guide design in coDiagnostiX
Guided implant placement on pre-prepared surgical guides
Straumann guided surgical workflows
Guidance on guided surgery kits, in liaison with Straumann
Do delegates need to bring their own cases?
Delegates are encouraged to submit suitable STL files and cases before the course. These are used for the digital planning and guide design sessions, and contingency cases are provided where required. The practical surgical session on day two uses pre-prepared guides, so you do not need to bring a case to place on.
What types of cases are covered?
Single-unit and bridge cases, alongside delegate or provided planning cases. Full-arch guided surgery is not covered on this programme.
Will I design a surgical guide on the course?
Yes. Guide design is taught hands-on in coDiagnostiX on day one, so you leave able to plan and design guides for your own cases. The guides used in the practical surgical sessions on day two are pre-prepared for the course, which keeps the surgical time focused on placement technique and verification.
Will I place implants using a guide?
Yes. Day two is fully guided implant placement using pre-prepared surgical guides, covering guided drill protocols, seating and stability, verification and troubleshooting.
Is support available for guided surgery kits?
Yes. Delegates receive guidance on guided surgery kits and related materials, in liaison with Straumann, before the course.
